This group is for those in SL who appreciate, adore, and want to spread the word of the Lolita Fashion to others! It's also for those who just want to be updated as to all the news of Lolita in Second Life! We will be bringing weekly shop updates, monthly store lists, and any news of sales/events/hunts we run into while skipping through the world of second life covered in bows and petticoats!

So you have questions, I'm sure. First and foremost, anyone who doesn't understand what we're doing here might think ill on it. So here's the most basic question and it's answer!

~*What is lolita?*~

Lolita; as defined has to do with some book, but that's -not- the lolita we're taking about here.

Lolita is a style of fashion that fans argue the origin of all the time because it takes a lot of influence from western antiquity. Where ever the origin may be, it's vastly popular in Japan and it's popularity sparked there much before it moved elsewhere. It focuses on being modest, and feminine, using a bell shaped skirt that is like impossible to get without the right petticoat. Even lolita inspired dresses are not considered lolita without this bell shape, as the bell shape is one of the distinctive traits of the lolita fashion.

There are other traits that help define the fashion to help people perfect the look, but we'll get into that later.

People who dress in this fashion like to call themselves “Lolita” as if they are lolitas. To be 'a lolita' you merely need to dress in the fashion, properly. It is not a way of life and there are no rules, aside from the fashion rules for the look like with any other fashion, needed to follow to be 'a lolita.'

There are some wonderful stylists and creators on Second Life that make the lolita fashion spring to life in our virtual home, and soon enough we will be bringing those people to all of the inspiring Lolitas who want to portray themselves with such a fashion on Second Life!

~*What do we plan to do?*~

Well that's entirely up to the lolita population on SL. At first, we will just be keeping up with sales, stores, and things fitting into the lolita Style of Fashion. We will educate people via the blog as to different styled of lolita fashion and what fall into them. :D
